Introducing
Unlocking
Potential, Hope, and Care
Through the
Practice of Yoga
Yoga PotentiALS is a program that raises awareness and curates content tailored to the needs of people with ALS and their caregivers, focusing on its mental and physical benefits.
Through in-person, online and social platforms, Yoga PotentiALS is also a fundraising campaign for the InfluentiALS Foundation. Funds raised will support the InfluentiALS core mission of helping those living with ALS afford the care, services, and home modifications necessary to live and adapt to this degenerative and fatal condition.
Yoga PotentiALS is a yoga initiative & wellness campaign that focuses on the transformative power of yoga. Yoga, along with cold therapy are the key parts of Ron’s weekly regimen. It is these two holistic practices that he attributes as a primary element to help manage his ALS symptoms and maintain his quality of life.
Its benefits, from improving physical strength and flexibility to reducing stress and enhancing mental clarity, are invaluable for all ALS patients, as well as pretty much everyone. NamastALS is here to share these benefits through partnerships with the yoga and wellness community
Jivana Heyman is a renowned yoga teacher, author, podcast and content creator, and accessibility advocate with over 30 years of experience. He has inspired many through teacher training and his dedication to making yoga inclusive.
Over a decade ago, Jivana coined the term “Accessible Yoga,” which has become a widely recognized movement within the yoga world, symbolizing inclusivity and empowerment for people of all abilities.
As director and co-founder of the global nonprofit Accessible Yoga Training School, he and Amber Karnes provide educational programs and resources focused on equity and accessibility in yoga. The pair also co-host the Accessible Yoga Podcast, further amplifying the organization’s mission.
Yoga PotentiALS crystallized when The InfluentiALS connected with Jivana. His enthusiastic response validated the initiative and brought clarity to our programming. His insights deepened our connection to the accessible yoga community, and through leaders like Jivana, we are building partnerships with wellness leaders who understand our community’s unique needs, and seek to contribute our vision.
